JINVERSE DIGITAL / OWNED WORK / EDITION II

MARGIN — A bilingual journal for reading, editing and print handoff

A self-initiated, studio-owned editorial experience with language switching, chapter navigation, editable bilingual JSON and retained twelve-page A5 and booklet PDFs. Not a client publication.

A self-initiated studio implementation, not a client commission. No client adoption, revenue or business uplift is claimed.

MARGIN Edition II actual interface
Actual interface capture of owned work. Where used, contextual imagery in the demo is AI concept imagery, not client or location photography.

The design problem

MARGIN studies how original writing about space can work on screen and on paper. The project separates a living web edition from fixed print files so a reader can tell exactly which deliverable has changed.

The implementation

Edition II combines an editorial masthead, chapter rail, reading progress and Chinese/English switching. A keyboard-aware editor changes the current language's cover fields or validates the full bilingual JSON before applying it. The existing twelve-page bilingual A5 PDF and A4 duplex booklet remain separate, unchanged print deliverables.

Deliverables to inspect

  • Bilingual reading interface with chapter navigation, current-chapter feedback and reading progress.
  • Editable cover text and validated full bilingual JSON, with apply-to-web and JSON download controls.
  • Retained twelve-page bilingual A5 PDF and A4 duplex booklet imposition PDF, alongside browser printing.

Scope and limits

  • The PDFs are retained original files, not newly produced for Edition II. Web or JSON edits do not regenerate or synchronize either PDF; no publishing or document-generation backend is connected.
  • This is owned editorial work, not a client building study or construction documentation. AI concept imagery is not site photography, and no readership or commercial outcome has been measured.
