JINVERSE DIGITAL / OWNED WORK / EDITION II
SUMI — A considered shopping experience with a working cart
A self-initiated, studio-owned commerce front end for a fictional homeware brand, with category filters, a persistent cart and local order CSV export. Not a client store.
A self-initiated studio implementation, not a client commission. No client adoption, revenue or business uplift is claimed.

The design problem
SUMI explores how an understated retail direction can continue into a clear shopping flow. Six fictional objects provide a concrete basis for product discovery, quantity changes and a visible cost breakdown.
The implementation
An AI concept hero image establishes the mood, while original product illustrations distinguish the catalog from real product photography. Category buttons filter the six items. Cart quantities, home delivery or pickup, a free-shipping threshold and gift wrapping recalculate the totals; the cart can be restored from browser storage.
Deliverables to inspect
- Six-item catalog with three product categories, quantity controls, cart feedback and an empty-cart state.
- Browser-local cart persistence and a visible subtotal, shipping, gift-wrap and total calculation.
- Downloadable CSV of the current demonstration order, explicitly marked unpaid and not submitted.
Scope and limits
- Products, stock and prices are fictional demonstration settings. No payment, order submission, inventory or logistics backend is connected.
- The hero is AI concept imagery, not physical product photography. This owned implementation has no verified customer purchases, conversion uplift or revenue result.
