AFTER HOURS — From programme discovery to a checked selection
Cultural websites & booking UX
An owned cultural-venue front end with six fictional programmes, date/type filters, session and capacity validation, review, edit and browser-local selection. No real bookings.
Self-initiated studio work, not a client commission. No adoption, revenue or business uplift is claimed.

The design problem
A cultural website needs to support a decision, not only communicate atmosphere. AFTER HOURS connects an editorial programme list with a small but complete selection flow: discover, select, check, return to edit and save a demonstration choice.
The implementation
Six fictional programmes can be filtered by date and type. A pure validation model rejects unknown sessions, non-integer party sizes and choices above the demonstration capacity. A native dialog separates selection and review, while a versioned browser-local record supports returning later without collecting names or contact details.
Deliverables to inspect
- Responsive original website with six programmes, crossed date/type filters, sold-out and empty-result states.
- Session selection, bounded party-size choices, review, return-to-edit and an explicitly local confirmation flow.
- Editable HTML/CSS/JavaScript and validation model, browser-local restore/clear behavior, keyboard focus and recoverable storage-error states.
Scope and limits
- All events, dates and capacities are fictional. The demo does not reserve seats, reduce authoritative inventory, charge money, send email or create a real booking.
- Browser-local storage is not a booking backend or a permanent record. A production system requires authoritative event data, time-zone rules, concurrent inventory, cancellation, payment and privacy decisions; no conversion uplift has been measured.
